FAQ

PRE & POST CARE for Treatments

BEFORE TREATMENT

Avoid alcohol and smoking on the day of treatment.
Schedule procedure at least two weeks before a special occasion or event, and four weeks for dermal fillers. Avoid treatment if you have active infections such as active acne breakouts in the treatment area or are taking antibiotics for an infection. Reschedule your appointment if you feel unwell.

WRINKLE Treatment

Do not rub or touch the treated area until the next morning. No facial treatments, laser, or massage for one week, this is to help avoid any complications.

It is recommended you do not lie down for the next 4-6 hours as you may inadvertently rub the treated areas. For the same reason you shouldn’t do strenuous exercise after treatment for 24 hours.

Avoid exposure to any heat treatments such as sauna, hot tub or tanning for up to 48 hours.

Paracetamol is recommended for any headaches or pain. Try to avoid medicines such as ibuprofen (Nurofen) or diclofenac (Voltaren) for the next 24 hours.

There is a small risk of bruising. If this occurs do not worry as it is temporary, it’s generally minor and can easily be covered up with makeup. Arnica tablets and hirudoid cream helps reduce bruising.

Your treatment will take 4-14 days to start working.

VOLUME Treatments

Do not rub or touch the treated area until the next morning.
Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment.
Try to avoid lying down or any strenuous exercise for 6 hours after treatment.

It is recommended to avoid extended exposure to sun or UV light and extreme hot or cold temperatures including hot foods and drinks if you’re lips have been treated. Avoid facial laser treatment to the treated area for up to four weeks.

For cheek treatment it is recommended to avoid restrictive headwear, including goggles, sunglasses, or motorcycle helmets for up to four weeks.

It is recommended not to apply make-up to the treatment area until 12 hours post treatment.

There will be some swelling and bruising, however, it should only be temporary. Arnica tablets or Hirudoid cream can help reduce bruising. If you feel it’s not normal, please contact your Cosmetic Nurse or Doctor.

You may feel lumps for up to 2 weeks, as your body adjusts to the new volume.

It may take 4 weeks to see the full results of enhancements.

Wrinkle treatment product used in our clinic is the most potent and commercially available for use for aesthetic and therapeutic indications.

The safety and efficacy is well established across both aesthetic and clinical indications. Clinical studies have found patients can have psychological improvement from treatment due to the boost in their appearance and self-confidence.

Anti-wrinkle is a schedule 4 medication and must be prescribed by a medical practitioner after a face-to face consultation. The script is not guaranteed prior to consultation. You must must be re-scripted if there are any changes to your medical status. Onset of treatment is usually 2-5 days with maximum effect at 2 week and treatment is repeated every 3-4 months.

Upper facial lines result from repetitive muscle movement (facial expression) over time and are exacerbated by loss of skin integrity (decreased collagen and elastin) due to the ageing process and the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic factors.

Glabellar Lines, also known as frown lines are commonly treated as this muscle pulls the brows inwards and down. Treating this muscle relaxes and smooths vertical lines we get with facial animation like frowning.

Crows Feet, also known as orbicularis oculi can be treated superficially to smooth lines and wrinkles at the outer corner of the eyes. This can soften the area around eyes with active animation like smiling.

Treating the forehead can soften the horizontal lines we get from raising our eyebrows as this muscle is an elevator. Over time these can become deeper and visible at rest. As we age we find our eyebrows can become lower due to the laxity of the frontal muscle.

Lower face treatment can be used to treat the appearance of chin dimpling, downward turned mouth (DAO), gummy smile and facial slimming of the masseter muscles can reduce teeth grinding.

VOLUME enhancement products are used for the correction of fine lines, moderate to severe wrinkles, folds, and deep skin depressions in addition to facial contouring, volume restoration, lip enhancement and skin rejuvenation. The average longevity for treatments is 6-18 months depending on the rheology of the product used along with an individual’s metabolism and lifestyle.

As we age, volume loss appears to occur at different rates in different compartments, leading to irregularities in facial contour and loss of the seamless, smooth transitions between the convexities and concavities of the face.

Enhancement of the lip can be used to create definition, height and volume of the upper and lower lip. Patients can be treated up to 1ml for any single lip treatment and maximum frequency is 2-3 x per year to provide lip enhancement of shape, volume and hydration. Prior to lip treatment, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the area in conjunction with the HA product that contains anaesthetic within to promote minimal discomfort and pain.

Treatment in the mid face focuses in areas like the cheeks. By treating this area we can fill the fat pads that have lost shape and volume due to aging. Cheeks can be treated with up to 4ml for any single mid-face treatment at a frequency of up to 2 x per year.

Commonly associated with attractiveness is the look of a strong chin. Bone atrophy due to ageing results in reduced projection. Elongating the appearance of the chin can result in a slimmer overall appearance of the lower face. Clients can receive up to 2ml  for any single chin treatment is recommended.
